Interview with the artist. . .
I was able to sit down with D. Hall again this time for his newest upcoming mixtape Hallway, and I was able to get in dept with him about his creativity process and the musical picture that he paints. I asked him how does it feel to be back for the first time and he stated , it feels good because you don’t hear from some people after the first time. One of the first questions I asked him about his new single “Dolla Bill” is what prompted a song like this and his comments was, when you think about a song for the strip club all of them are rap songs and none of them are r&b, so I decided to keep it r&b with a hip-hop influence. The further we got into the interview I was able to hear further into Hallway and his direction was very refreshing due to no one is out or coming out with his kind of sound in the market. Hallway showcases different sides of D.Hall ranging from Dolla Bill and records like High, through our discussion about his amazing mixtape Hallway I wanted to ask about his record High and what even prompted that song because I let him know that he has a very strong female fan base that just can’t get enough of it and he laughed. His comments about High was its interesting how that song came about because he has a lot friends who smoke and there always like write song about smoking so he did, he states what makes High so interesting is yes I’m talking about smoking but I put it in reference to a female and that’s why the song is so unique just like a woman. When you find that right one your on cloud 9 or she knocks you off of your feet like she gets you high. I see no ceiling to D.Hall potential because his creativity allows you to see that he has no limits with the God given talents the he possess, and I’m pretty sure we’re going to hear way more from him in the future
